This talented young magician once helped us create a fun, memorable moment for our TikTok audience, and now he’s wowing millions of viewers on one of television’s biggest stages: America’s Got Talent. We couldn’t be more excited to watch his journey, and we’re proud to have had the opportunity to work with him.
A Magician Born to Perform
Geno Ploeger’s love of magic didn’t start on a stage; it started with his grandfather. At just five years old, watching a simple trick from a family member was enough to ignite a lifelong passion. By age ten, he was performing at birthday parties and attending magic conventions, already treating magic less like a hobby and more like a calling.
Growing up in Wisconsin before his family relocated to Arizona at age 13, Geno eventually made his way to Arizona State University, where he studied business and theater, which are two disciplines that, as it turns out, are the perfect foundation for a performing career. His idol? Mat Franco, the Season 9 winner of America’s Got Talent. Geno was so inspired by Franco that he went on to intern for him, learning the craft directly from one of the best in the business.

Taking the stage with the poise of a seasoned professional at just 21 years old, he performed a fast-paced, story-driven card act that wove together his own life story — from discovering magic as a child, to interning with Mat Franco, to standing on the AGT stage — all through the magic of a deck of cards.
The act earned him a standing ovation from the audience and high praise from the judges. Judge Mel B. summed it up perfectly: “I’ve never seen magic done so quickly with so much showmanship. That was brilliant, entertaining, magical.” Howie Mandel encouraged Geno to differentiate himself from his mentor, Mat Franco, as the competition progresses — a constructive note that speaks to just how much promise the judges see in him. All four judges voted him through, giving him a unanimous pass to the next round.
The audition clip was released on YouTube ahead of the episode’s broadcast and has already surpassed 200,000 views — and that number keeps climbing. Geno is clearly resonating with audiences far beyond the AGT studio audience.
